ADVOCACY ALERT!
The 2025 Historic Preservation Funding (HPF) appropriated by Congress has not yet been released by the Department of the Interior. This affects our State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO), impacting job stability, grants (how This Old Castle is funded!), National Register of Historic Places nominations, and so much more.
Even worse: the President’s proposed FY2026 federal budget cuts the HPF almost entirely. The HPF is not taxpayer dollars and has been the main source of preservation since 1976.
WE NEED YOUR HELP! Join us on Wednesday, May 28, 5:00-9:00 to contact your representatives to release these appropriated funds and continue HPF funding for 2026 and beyond.
If you’ve ever wondered how you can help, this is your way to use your voice and advocate for history in Omaha and beyond.
Come to the historic Carriage House at Joslyn Castle to advocate, snack, and make a difference. Your voice matters, and we can’t do it without you!
